Hopping into the "Way-Back-Machine"...2009 or so, a group of people started playing ARMA.  It was fun and interesting, but it lacked "a team spirit".  Several others created the 82nd. Airborne gaming organization.  Through a series of unfortunate events that lead to the disbandment of the 82nd., the 24th MEU was born.  And milsim is a milsim and eventually that too, died.

But, a few core people stuck together..."We few.  We happy few" created Phoenix Consulting.  Gone are the days of the milsim with strict structures, rigid rank ladders and assigned load-outs!  A PMC needs to be flexible and it's people need to have a voice and be heard.  We started making our own maps and scenarios that fed the need for fun and teamwork...And it was (boots-on-the-ground) good!

Then, long-about mid-2012, Roberts Space Industries started the campaign of Star Citizen.  PHX saw this as an opportunity to have fun and teamwork in SPACE!  In SC, we saw gaps in the whole "Corporate", "Freelance", "Pirate", "Explorer" thing.  There is wiggle-room in between those classifications.  Sure, there is more to it than that, but we'll keep our little secrets, thank you.  Phoenix Consulting is a small organization among many large orgs.  But remember, it's the smallest grain of sand that can start an avalanche.  "We know how the Best will fall, and the rest will follow"*.  Our wide variety of ships gives us an advantage in flexibility and response time to our contracts.  Small...Like a fly...carrying a nuke...

Still others have taken to the skies in the DCS series of aircraft and War Thunder.  They climb into the cockpit of aircraft from this historic to the current and have pitched battles against other like-minded.  In the real-world, the "Fur-Ball" may have seen it's day, but for our people, it's alive and well.
